Occupational Therapy

Overview
Pediatric occupational therapists at St. Francis Children’s Center work with children to build their independence. Our therapists evaluate and implement individualized treatment plans that support daily routines, socialization, and play skills in home, school, and community settings.

Speech Therapy

Overview
Our pediatric speech therapists support effective communication by enhancing both verbal and non-verbal skills. They also assist with feeding and swallowing. Each therapy plan is tailored to help children confidently communicate at home, school, and in their community.

Overview
Pediatric physical therapists help improve developmental milestones, mobility, and reduce pain. They focus on movement quality, strength, balance, posture, and range of motion to increase a child’s independence in all environments.

Asha Fredrick, MS, CCC-SLP

About Asha


Asha Fredrick is a licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist who is passionate about empowering her clients through effective communication. She holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, respectively. With nearly four years of experience in the field and almost two years as part of the SFCC team, Asha brings both clinical knowledge and a warm, collaborative approach to her work with children and families.

Asha had provided speech and language therapy to individuals ages 1 to 20 across a range of settings, including private practice, clinics, homes, and daycares. Her experience includes evaluating and treating challenges in expressive and receptive language, articulation and phonology, social communication, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and autism spectrum disorder. She also has experience working in early intervention through birth to three programs, where she supports young children in natural environments to foster meaningful developmental growth.

What drives Asha in her work is helping her clients grow in confidence and become strong self-advocates. She values the relationships she builds with families and believes that collaboration is key to successful outcomes. Outside of the clinic, Asha enjoys spending her time reading, weightlifting, and baking — a mix of hobbies that reflects her thoughtful, strong, and creative personality.

Jenna Dieringer, MOT, OTR/L

About Jenna

Jenna Dieringer is a nationally board-certified and Wisconsin-licensed Occupational Therapist with over a decade of experience in pediatric care. She earned both her Bachelor of Rehabilitative Science and Master of Occupational Therapy degrees from Concordia University Wisconsin. Though she’s newer to SFCC, having joined the team in 2024, Jenna brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion from her nearly 10 years at Children’s Wisconsin, where she worked across school settings, outpatient clinics, and NICU/CICU follow-up programs.

Jenna is deeply committed to a holistic approach to therapy — considering not just the physical, but also the cognitive, social, and emotional aspects of every child she works with. She’s trained in a variety of specialized techniques including Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), sensory integration, myofascial release, kinesiotaping, visual rehabilitation, and reflex integration. She also has experience with casting techniques for constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT), particularly for children with cerebral palsy and brachial plexus injuries and is skilled in molding prefabricated orthotics to support functional use and comfort. Jenna finds great joy in helping children engage with their world through play and purposeful activities, always striving to help them reach their full potential.

Jenna lives in Cedar Grove with her husband and two energetic young boys who keep her busy and smiling. When she’s not in the clinic, she enjoys family walks, boating, playtime with her little ones, and working on her golf swing. Her warm personality and commitment to family-centered care make her a valued part of the SFCC team.

Michelle Schofield, PT

About Michelle

Michelle Schofield is a licensed Physical Therapist with over three decades of experience helping individuals — especially children — improve their movement and overall function. A graduate of Marquette University’s Program in Physical Therapy, Michelle had dedicated the last 33 years to the field, with the past two years serving families at SFCC. Her professional journey includes a strong foundation in both adult and pediatric neurological rehabilitation, where she worked in inpatient and outpatient settings and served as a clinical educator focused on promoting clinical excellence.

Michelle holds multiple certifications, including the Anat Baniel Method for Children (since 2003), BLS certification, and FAST Parenting instructor certification. She is especially passionate about the intricate connection between the brain and musculoskeletal system, and how that relationship impacts a child’s ability to move and function in their world. Her work is rooted in this understanding, and she brings a thoughtful, personalized approach to every child she supports. With experience in both outpatient care and early intervention through birth to three programs, Michelle’s goal is to help each child unlock their full potential through meaningful movement.

Michelle brings not only a wealth of clinical expertise but also a deep commitment to lifelong learning and child-centered care, making her an integral part of the SFCC team.

Natalie Klain, MS, CCC-SLP

About Natalie

Natalie Klain is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with a decade of experience helping young children find their voices. She holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, respectively. Natalie is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed to practice in the state of Wisconsin. For the past two years, she has been a dedicated member of the team at SFCC, bringing her warmth, expertise, and enthusiasm to the families she serves.

Natalie has worked extensively with children aged 12 months to 5 years, providing therapy in homes, daycares, and clinic settings throughout Milwaukee County. Her experience spans a wide range of developmental and communication challenges, including receptive and expressive language disorders, phonological and articulation disorders, cognitive impairments, autism spectrum disorder, and Down syndrome. She is also expanding her expertise in feeding and swallowing disorders. Natalie is deeply passionate about helping children communicate more effectively with their caregivers. As she says, “It is so rewarding to see the smiles on the child and caregiver’s face when they can understand one another!”

Originally from Milwaukee, Natalie lives in the city with her husband and their young son. When she’s not supporting families through speech therapy, she enjoys reading, traveling, and discovering new spots around town — from local parks and the lakefront to Milwaukee’s vibrant restaurants and breweries. Her compassionate approach and deep-rooted connection to the community make her a valued resource for families at SFCC.

Sydney Rearick, MOT, OTR/L

About Sydney

Sydney Rearick is a nationally board-certified and Wisconsin-licensed Occupational Therapist with a passion for supporting children and families through developmentally rich, play-based care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and her Master of Occupational Therapy from Concordia University Wisconsin. With four years of experience in the field and two years as part of the SFCC team, Sydney brings a well-rounded and compassionate approach to pediatric therapy.

Sydney has provided occupational therapy services to children from birth through age 12 in a variety of settings, including schools, clinics, homes, and the community. Her areas of focus include fine, visual, oral, and gross motor development, sensory regulation, attention, feeding, and mealtime behavior. She is certified in First Aid, BLS, and AED, and holds additional credentials as a Certified Family Life Educator. Her specialized training includes DIR Floortime, Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), Oral Motor Function, and the SOS Approach to Feeding — tolls she uses to tailor care to each child’s unique needs.
Sydney believes that play is a vital part of child development and uses it as the foundation for building skills and fostering connection. She finds great joy in teaching parents how to play and engage meaningfully with their children, saying, “I get to play every day and see the wonder of the world through a child’s eyes!”

Born and raised in Milwaukee, Sydney now enjoys life there with her toddler, who keeps her on her toes. In her spare time, you can find her hiking, planning picnics, baking sweet treats, or getting creative with her sketchbook. Her joyful spirit and thoughtful care make her a cherished part of the SFCC community.
